2014 Nov 27, Young Leader's Breakfast with Mr David Rees

We are pleased to welcome David Rees, Head of Project Management and Design at Standard Chartered Bank, who will be hosting our Young Leader’s Breakfast on 27th November 2014.

David is currently the Head of Project Management and Design having oversight of the Bank’s global project portfolio. Main focus is setting standards, space optimization, design and renovation to deliver affordable, flexible and fit-to-purpose workplaces to the Bank’s property portfolio. This work includes both retail and commercial projects within Asia, Africa and the Middle East through a team delivering some 1,000 projects annually. His main activity now is developing insights that will unlock workplace performance in terms of business effectiveness and customer experience.

Based in Asia since 1988, David has been responsible for a variety of work including business alignment, real estate, projects, facility management, outsourcing, standards and environmental initiatives and business integrations for Standard Chartered Bank over the past 11 years. He has previously worked in the technology sector including Hongkong Telecom (now PCCW) as well as having interest in alternative workplace solutions and the integration of technology that impact the workplace and environment.

David graduated from the University of Tennessee and has a Master Philosophy (MPhil) from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University

2014 Oct 9, Young Leader's Breakfast with Mr Michael Lo

We are pleased to welcome Michael Lo, former Head of Operations of The Link REIT, who will share his experience and practical tips relating to energy and food waste management for our Young Leader’s Breakfast on 9th October 2014.

Michael Lo joined The Link REIT in 2010. He was responsible for overseeing the facility and engineering management of asset portfolio of the Company to ensure reliable and efficient asset management. Prior to joining The Link REIT, Michael started his own consultancy in 2006 and worked for Hong Kong Land and Hong Kong Housing Authority in 1978 and 1971 respectively. Michael has over 40 years of experience in property and facility management business.

Michael holds a Master of Science in Facility Management from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a Certificate in Housing Management from The University of Hong Kong. He is also a IFMA’s Certified Facility Manager and was the Vice President of the Hong Kong Chapter of IFMA.

We are pleased to have David Lindsay, Director of Corporate Real Estate in Asia Pacific for Johnson Controls, hosting our Young Leader’s Breakfast on 10th July 2014

David joined Johnson Controls in 2007 and currently leads the Real Estate Services Team responsible for supporting Johnson Controls customers lease administration and transactional real estate requirements across 16 countries, from the Sub Continent to Japan. David is a Fellow of both the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS). He has been in real estate all his working life, since his graduation in England. David has practiced in Hong Kong since 1983 when he arrived to take up an appointment with the Lands Department of the Hong Kong Government. Prior to joining Johnson Controls David worked in the agency sector, most recently with Vigers Hong Kong.

2014 Jul 3, Lunchtime Forum: Introduction to Ergonomic Design and Productivity

We are thrilled to have Professor Alan Hedge hosting our event on 3rd July.

Professor Hedge is from Cornell University and is a global authority in the field of ergonomics; He was in Hong Kong for just two days as part of his Asian tour with Humanscale and, with thanks to Humanscale, we are delighted to have secured this seminar.
 
The presentation was on the topic of ergonomics and productivity in the workplace, which is of relevance to anyone with responsibility for workspace or likely of interest to anyone who uses workspace. During the seminar Professor Hedge covered the productivity impact of the design of the office workplace environment, and focused on the effects of ergonomic products, programs and indoor environmental conditions. Importantly, this presentation highlighted collated research from multiple companies on the productivity impact of ergonomic programs, providing tangible evidence which can be applied to other workplace.

2014 May 15, Young Leader's Breakfast with Mr Tony Wong

We are pleased to welcome Tony Wong, Director, Workplace Resources for Asia Pacific and Japan, Cisco Systems Inc., who will be hosting our Young Leader’s Breakfast on 15th May 2014.

Tony has been active in the field of CRE&FM. He was the Founding Chairman of the CoreNet Global Asia Pacific Chapter in 1993. He regularly delivers key note presentations at CRE&FM events and lectures in universities across the Asia Pacific region. His areas of expertise include culture, mergers, outsourcing, space strategy, portfolio management and CRE organizations.

Tony is a Registered Architect and seasoned Corporate Real Estate and Facilities Management executive with experience in managing multi-discipline international teams to deliver real estate projects and services to meet business results. He moved from working as an Architect to CRE&FM since 1990, and had covered almost all aspects of CRE&FM for JPMorganChase and Morgan Stanley, acting as Vice President and Executive Director respectively to manage their Asia premises. After serving in investment banks for 20 years, Tony took on a new challenge in January 2011 and moved to Cisco Systems to be the Director, Workplace Resources for Asia Pacific and Japan, managing delivery of Real Estate, Construction, and Facilities Management.
